Dying to experiment new hairstyles this 2009 and still look fab? Your choices are abound! Update your haircut style with these new and chic trends that dominates the hair scene this year.

THE BOB CUT

These precisions cut bobs are really huge this year, coupled with silky, sleek styling, a blunt fringe plus heaps of shine. Your bob cut should be crafted carefully so as to accentuate your unique facial structure or to highlight a long and beautiful neck.
Bob hairstyles ranges from the ear level to shoulder skimming and would be best for straight or even slightly wavy hairs.

LONG AND WAVY STYLE

Long and wavy style is definitely The Hairstyle of 2009. The Spring-Summer 2009 shows were full of tall stunners with absolutely gorgeous long wavy haircut. And most significantly, the waves should look as natural as possible. Either with a heavy layering, or with some layers around the face, or with the same length a-la-Demie-Moore haircut, these waves are rocking 2009.

Also along with the layers, asymmetrical bang are very hot, and whether they are cut blunt or are heavily textured, sloping bangs adds interest and can also highlight your features nicely.

CLASSY PONYTAILS

A Classy Ponytail haircut was a major hair trend on Spring-Summer 2009 runways in Paris, New York and Milan.

Either worn high or low, it still looked absolutely stunning, its elegance made it as one of the hottest hair trend of this year.

STRAIGHT TRACES

Do you rather prefer straight hair? The good news is classic straight traces haircut are so “IT” this year!

Parted in the middle, this hairstyle looks absolutely even more fabulous.

OVER THE TOP UPDOS

There is barely a sexier hairstyle than updo that opens your neck and then adds an extra 5 inches to your height.

Either worn with a gorgeous gown, a suit or even a pair of jeans, it can definitely add more style to your look.

COLOR FOR CHARACTER

Hair color can definitely add a dramatic effect to an even plain hairstyle. Rich natural brown colors are absolutely hot this year.

Natural red and natural colors of blonde are big as well. Highlights, lowlights, or panel definitely accentuate texture and can add tons of character to your style. You should compliment your features and skin tone, and also add an edge to your haircut by adding some artful hair coloring.

Hairstyles can pretty much determine how a person feel about herself. Most often, than not, people tend to judge you by just looking at your hairdo. A loose messy ponytail can aver your sloppiness or your carefree personality.
Hairstyles can pretty much determine how a person feel about herself. Most often, than not, people tend to judge you by just looking at your hairdo. A loose messy ponytail can aver your sloppiness or your carefree personality. And whether its embracing change after a bad break-up or impressing the interviewer to land a new job – how you style your hair can either lay open that you’ve moved on or you’re confident of your capabilities.

While its true that your hairstyle does not offer any form of physical strength, it does, however, condition emotional and psychological fortitude.

The jagged and choppy hairstyle (the current popular emo hairstyle) body forth a sad emotional state of mind of an individual. On the other hand, people sporting a punk hairstyle are supposed to be rebellious and antagonistic. A shaved head or a baldy is considered to be bold and empowered while men with a layered hairstyle are regarded to be preppy. Women with silky straight hair are perceived to be more serious, polished, and professional while women with curly locks are more bouncy, cheerful, and quirky.

So here is my confession. My hair is semi-wavy and most of the time it’s messy than sexy. I proved that after my boyfriend’s aunt commented on my unkempt tresses. When my mom offered to have my hair rebonded, I grabbed the opportunity and sat at Coco Salon for four hours. After the session, I was at awe. I definitely looked more polished and more grown-up. Thus began my wardrobe update, but that’s another story.

Yes, your hairstyle can affect your state of mind. A quick trip to the salon can either boost your self-confidence or shatter it when a stylist unintentionally gave you a bad haircut. Style your hair the way you want it to be perceived, and you definitely can’t go wrong.

They also like to look more masculine by having a neat and simple haircut. Therefore, most of them prefer to have their hair short but they still do not forget to be stylish when it comes to it. This is very evident in the hairstyles of pinoy male celebrities.

Most of the Filipino actors wear Faux hawk style. It is a more decent version of Mohawk hairstyle. If the latter shows a completely shaved sides and back of the head, this style just illustrates a razor sides that it allows them a little edgy without going to extremes. This can be achieved by applying a little amount of gel or styling wax on the longer hair on top of the hair so that it will stick up. Model and actors like Sam Milby and Dingdong Dantes are just some of the celebrities who popularized this style in the Philippines. With Dingdong’s, it is the shorter adaptation of faux hawk which shows his stunning robust guy looks. Its pure black color also adds to firm appearance.

On the other hand, Sam’s version is a trendier one because of its being longer and messy gelled. Its dark brown color makes him appear more of a rock star.

Another masculine hairdo is the army or the buzz cut. Since it is summer and it looks more of a brawny guy, many pinoys wear this hairstyle. It is less of a hassle because only small amount of styling product is required to be used. One of the Filipino celebrities who have this is Luis Manzano. He sets his haircut with a perfect bad boy look. However, his version is the one with medium sideburns.

Another common pinoy hairstyle is the Caesar cut. It associates layers that cut to about 2-3 inches all over the head with the bangs pushed forward and upward. It fits any face shape and hair type. It gives a suave look that is why most guys have this haicut. John Lloyd Cruz is one of the popular men who consistently apply subscribe to this style. His version is a longer one which is also known as the French crop.

These are just some of the simplest and most popular pinoy hairstyles that make girls go gaga over them. This just shows that Filipinos play in the middle when it comes to styles. Too much decoration and too much dullness are cheesy for their eyes.
