NATURAL CAUSES OF HAIR LOSS
A lot of people don’t consider food as a cause of hair loss, as you try to understand it. It is possible.
Hair loss in women is often difficult to diagnose and can be caused by many factors, including alopecia areata, hormone imbalances, menopause, dietary protein and amino acid deficiency, intestinal parasites, damage from hair treatments, and stress.

Refined white sugar has taken most of the natural elements in the sweetener out. Stick to natural sugar.

White flour has been over-processed. Many of the nutrients in the grains that make the flour have been removed, leaving little to benefit the body.

Hydrogenated oils may cause hair loss indirectly as they lead to other health conditions related to losing hair.

Protein isolate may sound like a healthy option but this is an artificial element that involves hexane in its processing. Hexane is similar to gasoline.

Don’t allow your day to be ruined just because you can’t fix your hair right. If you don’t have important things to do outside, then you can simply stay inside the house and let the day pass. But since most people have jobs and chores to do, this option will be unreasonable.

Sit down and evaluate your hair care routine. Are you always using a blow dryer? Do you use tongs, iron, and heated rollers? It’s a good idea not to include these things in your hair care regimen or try to minimize their usage. If you want to blow dry your hair, keep it at a low setting and don’t use it everyday.

Another hair care tip is to keep your hair moisturized by using conditioners. Avoid products that are alcohol-based. Make sure that before you leave the house, your hair is already dry; otherwise, it will tend to get frizzy.

Spend adequate time in taking a bath especially in rinsing your hair. Proper hair care demands that you rinse your hair thoroughly to avoid having dull hair. If the ends are rigid, you can comb it using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb instead of using hairbrushes.

Try to learn more about proper hair care so that you will know what to do just in case you encounter this frustrating and annoying hair problem.

If despite all your efforts in hair care you still don’t see any improvement, just laugh at your hair and pretend you’re not having a bad hair day. Besides, those people who know you too well will not judge you wrongly just because you’re having a bad-hair day, right?

Hair is the crowning glory of every person. It may have an influential effect on a person’s health and comfort. Aside from giving protection to our scalp against the heat of the warm climate and controlling heat loss during cold climate, it also has social functions to note. Perhaps we are aware that our society offers big importance on our appearance and our hair is one essential feature that is so easy to notice. Therefore having problems that concerns our hair such as hair loss can lead us to being unpleasant and having low confidence.

Individuals spend too much on hair grower and hair treatment in addition to commercial products and scalp treatments just to alleviate their hair condition. But, most of these people have not attempted to use alternative medication as a remedy to their hair problem. These people are not aware of the several benefits of herbal hair treatment over the commercial ones. In fact the herbal hair grower is so simple to procure, affordable and safe as they only contain natural and may not exhibit any side effect.

Below is a list of few herbs that are deemed to lessen hair loss and can be an ideal hair treatment:

Aloe Vera

This hair grower has been used for so many years by Indian tribes who live in South America. They assert that Aloe Vera has the ability to give them a healthy and thick hair. You just need to rub the herb onto your scalp and hair each night. Such hair treatment contains enzyme known as the superoxide dismutane. With that, together with its ability to activate the nitric oxide formation, will encourage hair growth in individuals who are experiencing baldness.

Green Tea

It is deemed that consuming some cups of green tea each day can help lessen the risk of baldness. This kind of hair treatment is also available in the form of a capsule.

Stinging Nettle

The herb’s root extract is very useful in fighting hair loss. If you are not able to find this hair grower on its natural form, you can purchase it in capsule or pill form. It has minerals and lipids that can help encourage your hair follicle and can lead to hair re-growth. It can be more effective if you will use together with saw palmetto although it is also possible to consume it alone.

Red Pepper

Put the flesh of red pepper straightly onto your scalp. This herbal hair treatment can act as a skin irritant that will stimulate the discharge of histamine. Histamine is a protein linked with allergic reactions. This will afterward stir the cells of your hair scalps, draw blood and nutrients to the areas of the scalp and encourage hair growth.

A full head of hair is always said to be our crowning glory and most take time and money to keep their hair in tiptop shape. Celebrities pay top dollar for top hairdresser services. Poor care and non-maintenance can lead to damage and ultimately hair loss. The loss of hair, may it be a man or a woman, can affect us mentally and physically. Loss of hair for some causes low self-esteem, extreme humiliation and embarrassment.

It is a known fact that dry hair is the pre-cursor to damage. Different types of hair react differently to treatments and processes we subject it to. But all hair, may it be curly, wavy or straight, have the same design when we look at it closely using an electron microscope.

The hair cuticle is located on the outside of the hair shaft. The cuticle looks like scales that point downward the hair shaft. Healthy hair is shiny and soft to the touch. This is because the hair cuticle is all aligned and sealed. Damage occurs when the hair cuticle becomes lifted and ragged. Damage also occurs when the hair shaft explodes from to much exposure to heat. Too much heat dries out the hair making it brittle and prone to breakage. When breakage occurs, split ends appear. The ends break and split unevenly and Split ends can never be repaired, only temporarily put off by conditioning shampoos and styling products. Most hair damage can come from multiple sources:

•	Mechanical – Even though our hair is one of the toughest materials on the planet if compared side by side to the same size of steel, too much brushing and back combing can lift the hair cuticle and expose the shaft.
•	Chemical – Coloring, perming, relaxing and straightening are some of the chemical treatments usually done to hair. Frequent treatments and over processing can lead to dryness and breakage.

Too much cuticle damage due to over perming. Image taken from P&G.

•	Sun damage – Over exposure to the sun’s UV rays can dry out hair. This can be seen as light streaks on the hair.
•	Heat – Too much heat and too frequent blow-drying dries out hair and makes it brittle.

Hair breakage due to too much heat from blowdrying. Image taken from P&G.

There is no turning back once your hair has been damaged and splits. It can temporarily be hidden by conditioning shampoos and “split-end treatments” as it only coats the outside of the hair shaft but will reappear after the next shampoo.

Hair after using split-end shampoo. Image taken from P&G.

The only way to remove split ends is to have a hair cut initially and have regular hair trimming every 6 to eight weeks. If your hair is much damaged, you may need to drastically shorten your hair and start changing your hair care process. But the best recourse is prevention and good hair care maintenance. Regular conditioning is essential to prevent hair from drying out. If you have time, let your hair air dry rather than blow drying it. If pressed for time, blowdry it at the lowest setting. Also have a short trim every six to eight weeks.

One of the most common hair problem people have nowadays is dandruff. It is considered as a worldwide problem which affects all kinds of individual from all parts of the planet. There is no exact reason as to why dandruff has to occur in a person’s hair. There are a lot of aspects that are deemed to be the cause of the development of flakes and dandruff in the locks. They mainly include the growth of fungal on the person’s head, improper hair care, too much exposure to severe climate conditions and the environmental pollutants. It has been regarded that individuals who use helmets are inclined to have hair loss or can develop flakes and dandruff. The reason for this is that the hair and especially the follicle are stressed out plus the heat produced in the process can lead to badness or hair loss.

Lots of medications have been recommended to defeat the dandruff menace as well as the flakes formation threat. Yet, not a single prescription will help anyone clear such problem. A mixture of prescription will definitely help lessen the growth of flakes and dandruff. One natural remedy that can facilitate in lessening the dandruff is with the use of organic oils. Examples of these organic oils are coconut oil, castor oil or any oil pulled out from flowers. These oils are proven to be effective in fighting possible dandruff occurrences. As well, these oils can be use in giving proper hair care maintenance to the hair. Organic oils hold natural ingredients and have properties given by nature that aids control dandruff problems. However, such natural products are until now needed to be uniformed for ingredients and components. The analysis is still going on for different levels. But, most people who use natural organic oils are reported to have reduction in the development of flakes and dandruff.

Dandruff problems can be avoided by applying the oil at least three up to four times a week. It is advised that the oils must be light and gently applied without upsetting the hair texture. The oil should be settled on the hair for about three hours. After letting the oil rest in your head for hours, it must be washed with a hair care product. You cannot just remove the oil that easy. So, you have to carefully rinse the hair using warm water for a few couple of minutes.

Many natural ingredients are as well utilized to encourage natural hair growth and practice proper hair care. They contain extracts from plants that are affluent in vitamins that aid in proper hair growth.

Remember, having the proper hair care habit can avoid you from acquiring dandruff today and even in the future.

However, they should not lose hope because there are treatments for this.

Commonly, men blame stress, side effects of medication, and serious diseases for their hair loss. However, the most possible cause of this problem is Androgenetic Alopecia or Male Pattern Baldness (MPB) which is primarily being inherited by the men involved. It compromises 95% of hair loss in men. Men who suffer under this trouble acquire hair follicles that are sensitive to dihydrotestoterone (DHT), which is a by-product of Testosterone. It changes to DHT with the support of the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase. The combination of these decreases hair follicles by reducing its lifespan and preventing it from producing good quality of hair.

Symptoms of this problem in men can easily be detected. It is determined by diagnosing how their hair looks like and the pattern of hair loss. Of course, histories of hair loss in the families of men should also be considered as a factor.

However, because this is hereditary, men should not blame their forefathers and should still hope for some solutions. There are two clinically proven treatments that are advised to be used by men with different degrees of hair loss. One is Finasteride, which is the generic name for Proscar and Propecia. It was made to treat enlarged prostate glands but scientists discovered that it has a side effect of hair growth. This is because it has the ability to reduce the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase which eventually does not become DHT. When taken daily, 1 mg dose of Finasteride can lessen the DHT levels in men’s scalp by 60%. Another solution is the application of Minoxidil in the bald part of their hair. It was originally made in tablet to cure high blood pressure. However, just like Finasteride, it has a side effect of hair growth to different unexpected parts. Because of this, scientists decided to make this to an ointment that can be applied to a specific part where hair growth is needed.

Because of the modern inventions, everything in this world will surely disappear slowly. Water evaporation can be prevented. Food can stay a little longer before it rots. Of course, everybody especially men can have their hair in their scalps as long as they want. Therefore, men need not be afraid of hair loss anymore.

Hairs can grow in all the wrong places and to carefully remove them, you must know the score of the common methods used to remove these excess body hair.

Shaving

Shaving is the most easy and inexpensive way to remove body hair and is especially effective on the legs and underarms. Although safety razors provide a close shave, the results are temporary. After 2 to 3 days, hair starts to sprout again. Start by wetting the skin thoroughly, then apply a shaving gel or cream (soap is too drying) to keep the skin soft and moist. This prevents nicks and makes it easier to shave the hair. For shaving the legs, start at the ankle. Always shave in the opposite direction of the hair growth, drawing the razor up the leg. For underarm hair, you may have to stroke in several areas since it grows in many directions. For the bikini area, pull the skin fairly taut with the fingers of your free hand so the surface is flat. If you need to shave a specific area twice, apply additional gel or cream. Rinse the skin and gently towel dry. Use oil or moisturizer to finish. Never use a blunt razor or share a razor with someone else.

Waxing

Waxing is among the best ways to remove hair from the bikini area. This gives a clean, smooth surface and the longest-lasting results. Hair grows back finer because waxing pulls the hair out below the surface of the skin. The key to allowing wax to penetrate into the follicles (and provide the closest possible wax) is by relaxing (yes, just relax). Despite the stinging sound as the piece of cloth is stripped off, many women has vouched that its not as painful as it sound and looks.

Depilatory Creams

If you’re in a hurry to remove hair, depilatory creams are a good bet. They’re easy to apply and effective in the short run by removing hair just below the skin’s surface. Their disadvantage is that the chemicals that “burn off” hair can also cause skin irritation. Those with very sensitive skin may not be able to tolerate depilatory creams. To get the best results, first apply a warm washcloth to the area; this will soften the hair and open the follicles so the depilatory can be better absorbed. Never leave the cream on your skin longer than what’s recommended. Instead of rinsing, wipe it off with the washcloth and then rinse. If your skin breaks out, wash the area with an anti-bacterial solution and consult a doctor. Never, never apply it on an area that has any cuts, scratches or other wounds.

Laser

When used for hair removal, laser light hits the hair follicle. The contact results in the hair follicle being destroyed. Because the light is attracted to dark colors, those with light skin and dark hair often see the best results. Darker skin absorbs some of the laser light, which can cause burning. For these people, lower-level light is recommended, but often is less effective. Usually, this process results merely in a slow hair growth. However, multiple laser hair removal can successfully extend a hair-free period. Laser treatment can be expensive so choose wisely, know what results to expect, and go to a reputable practitioner.

Human beings are born with different hair styles. Some have wavy or curly while others are straight haired. It is all up to us to maintain these styles and make them look great at all times. Our naturally good-looking hair can be easily changed due to our different exposures that we encounter each day and the kind of lifestyle we prefer. Presence of harmful substances, high heat temperatures, and other factors can cause hair problems.

You can always turn to natural mixtures if you have been looking for hair care procedures without too much effort or money. They are easy to do and it costs a lot less than buying fancy hair care products. The advantage of using all natural ingredients is that they do not contain harsh preservatives or chemicals. To take care of your hair naturally, below are some tips to help you.

* Make sure that you are maintaining a healthy and clean lifestyle.

Drinking alcohol, smoking and insufficient sleep can affect our mane. Exercise is also a must to promote good blood circulation to the scalp. Stress can cause accelerated hair problems.

* Try utilizing all natural shampoo.

If you want to create a special Chamomile shampoo, you must have 1 ½ tablespoons of glycerin, 4 bags of Chamomile tea, and 4 tablespoons of pure soap flakes. For 10 minutes, boil your Chamomile tea bags in 1 ½ cups of water. Next, take out the tea bags and pour the liquid left in the pot into a bowl with the soap flakes. Wait until the mixture softens before stirring in your glycerin until it is thoroughly blended. Pour your final mixture into a bottle and put it in a dark, dry and cool place until you are ready to use it.

If you prefer to make a mixture of olive oil and aloe shampoo, you must have 1 tablespoon olive oil, ½ cup natural liquid castile soap, and 2 tablespoons of aloe vera juice. To make this recipe work, first create an herbal infusion by taking ½ ounce of dried flowers of your choice and pouring one cup of boiling water over them. Once your herbal infusion is created, cover the mixture, cool and then strain. Add your aloe vera juice, castile soap, and olive oil to your herbal infusion and then pour it into a bottle.

* Hot oil is one of the most famous products that you can utilize at home.

You do not have to go to the parlor to do it effectively. All you need is use the right solution, shower cap, and a hot towel. To make it better, use ginseng and tea tree oil. This oil extracts from plants does not only provide moisturizing to your hair but is extremely effective in fighting bacteria as it strengthens your mane. That’s one way to natural hair care solution.

If you use heat in styling and it eventually caused hair problems, solutions containing hemp seed oil can help bring back moisture to your mane even as you style it. You can also use Argan oil as it can revitalize and fix the damage. If you are having dandruff problems or itchy scalp, you can use rosemary and jojoba oil to treat these issues.

Hi Carrie,

Kate here, first and foremost congratulations on the new blog. Anyway my dilemma is that I always wanted to wear my hair long, but its always seem to be in vain since I regularly snip it off to get rid of these ugly split ends. My hair will always be an inch below my shoulder and could no longer grow beyond that if I can’t find solutions for these nasty split ends. Tell me what to do Carrie.

Thanks,

Kate

Hello Kate,

Thank you for the question and for the warm greeting. I find that a lot of people can relate to your hair problem since I myself was a victim before. Split ends can be an annoying nightmare if its not treated right down to its cause. So let’s get to know more about our hair villain for the hour before I continue to discuss the cure.

Well, basically, split ends happen when the cuticle of your hair is damaged and the fibers of the cortex unravel. It nonetheless makes the hair dry, brittle and prone to tangling. I am sorry to say that whenever you get split ends, the only cure is to cut your hair off. Yes, snip – snip – snip.

Fortunately, there are a number of ways to control or prevent split ends before it starts to occur. If you shampoo daily, reduce the frequency since this is stressful to the hair. Always use a conditioner when washing your hair to avoid dryness. You may also try to get the tangles out by combing your hair after you have finished showering. In our everyday life, especially when we ride a jeepney on the way to work, the glorious wind and dust will usually tangle our hair stiff. To undo the mess, I pat a leave-on conditioner on my hair and comb the tangles out using a wide-toothed comb. If you like to use the hair blower, flat or curling iron to dry your damp hair, avoid not to do this everyday since this can really cause serious damage to your hair. I usually comb my wet hair with my trusty electric fan on instead of using the hair blower. However when you really need to use these hot styling tools, it’s ideal that use a hair serum to protect your main from drying out.

Always,

Carrie
