Reese Witherspoon is a Hollywood celebrity who wears her hair with tapered bangs. Mark Townsend is her stylist. The bangs are approximately ½” longer on both sides. Subtle layers are also created by vertically cutting the hair’s ends. To develop the textured look, careful tending was applied since Reese’s hair is silky and fine.

The glamorous curls of Eva Longoria are very beautiful. Ken Paves is her stylist who knows a lot about the latest hairstyle. With the wavy texture of Eva’s hair, Ken used hairpieces to create the layered look. The hair fall up to Eva’s mid-back. Ken Pave also designed the tousled waves of Jessica Simpson. Jessica’s hair is layered lightly and the face is curved by shorter pieces. The overall look is not fussy and very touchable. Any woman can wear the hairstyle because it is universally flattering and versatile.

Who wouldn’t know the Hollywood celebrity Angelina Jolie? Her latest hairstyle – the bombshell blowout was created by hairstylist David Babaii. The hair of Angelina flows better since the cascading layers reduces the weight of her hair. According to David, the key to achieving this beautiful look is not farming Angelina’s face with choppy layers. For women with silky hair, use a wave or texturing spray to produce instant hair lift. Do this before blow drying your hair. From the top portion of your hair, roll sections using a round brush. Wrap the hair sections in a curling iron or hot rollers. To create fullness or lift, you can use a toothbrush with hairspray. Visit a salon so that you can achieve the same hairstyle.

Another Hollywood celebrity is Jennifer Anniston. Her sleek and shiny layers were created by hairstylist Chris McMillan. Jennifer’s hair A-line shaped and is long layered. The jagged look is achieved by using the point-cutting technique. If your hair’s texture is finer, the cut should be blunter so that you can avoid a frayed and wispy look.

If you idolize a Hollywood celebrity, this is the best time to copy the latest hairstyle. You don’t need to spend a huge amount of money in order to maintain the latest hairstyle. You can also do it on your own especially if you’re creative enough.

Experts also say that the Taiwanese are wilder when it comes to their hairstyles. But if you try to look at the picture, there are simply subtle differences and the hairdos are nice although some people might not take you seriously.

Here is a picture of the Taiwanese F4 with Barbie Xu which starred in the Meteor Garden:

Most Taiwanese have high buns and light brown hair. You can also notice the side fringes and it’s extremely popular almost everywhere. You can also see ones with puffy tops that go thinner at the bottom portion.

You can also notice that most Taiwanese hairdos use a lot of hairspray, hair dye, hair gel and lots of crimping. The Asian hairstyles hardly have any difference at all. Well, that’s for you to decide just in case you want to have the same hairdo as the F4.

Here is a picture of the Korean F4, they are now quite popular with their ‘Boys Over Flowers’:

(From the left, you can see Kim Joon, Kim Bum, Lee Min Ho, Koo Hye Sun, and Kim Hyun Joong.)

The Korean hairdos are more sexy and conservative. There are long hair versions as well as short hair versions. The hairdos are different as compared to the Japanese. It exudes professionalism but at the same time, you can also bring out the wild side. Parents wouldn’t mind seeing their daughter’s boyfriend having such hairstyle because it’s good to look at as compared to other Asian hairstyles.

Since hairstyles change frequently, celebrities also try to keep up with the fashion trend but they are also maintaining their own personal style. Asian hairstyles differ but it depends on the person wearing the hairstyle.

A quick search online will give you an idea of the different hairdos used by the F4 although if you try to look at them closely, there are very little differences. Most of the men wear their hair long with bangs but they are cool. Watch their television series and get amazed by their hairdos.

Dear Carrie,

I have been curly all my life. I had been envy about people who have long
straight hair, and I used to wonder how it felt like and looked like if I
have it.

Around 2 years ago, when hair rebonding started to flourish, I decided to do
it. But then of course, it is quite expensive for my hair since it would
take time for the hair chemicals to be absorbed.

When it all started, I was cautious about how my hair should be and choosy
about how it should be treated, most especially that some friends like me
when I’m curly. Nevertheless, I was tired of the same do. It was time for a
change.

So it has been a routine for me to have it done every five months. I tried
a few hair salons in the quest of finding out which one has the best service
and price, of course. Just lately, I have to do it again. When curl meets
straight, it is quite topsy turvy. If your work requires you to be with
people frequently, looks and impression matters.

When day-off came, it was time. It was my only time, but also had other
errands to do, thus time was limited for me. So I headed to the mall, SM
City, with things juggling in my head. So everything has to be done in the
mall. I headed to Salon de Rose. Usually hair rebonding takes 4 hours or
more with my hair, and that time they offered less. Isn’t that long enough?
But then I agreed and splurged for it. I decided to give it a try. I had
doubts though about the quality of their work based from some friends’
comments, but they deserve the benefit of the doubt. Plus, technology
progresses, so there could be improvements.

Two hair stylists were working with me. They both took each side. They had
different ways in working the hair. So I thought, as long as I get the
result, I’m ok. I had it cellophaned too. They advised that hair after
rebonding would not look alive unless a cellophane is done over it. So I had
it. I looked like bald at that time since hair usually after the process
would look so limp and straight and no volume yet. Only after the third day,
could you notice the texture of a natural straight hair and the outcome of
the job.

Hair is not also allowed to be wet for 3 days, to allow the chemicals to
work on the hair. So as not to waste money, instructions have to be
followed. After 3 days, it was time to wash hair. So I did with the regular
shampoo and a hair conditioner. I wasn’t happy about the outcome. There were
sections on the hair that wasn’t properly done. It was the on the right
side, near the cheek. So it was on a very obvious area. A week after, I had
to go back to Salon de Rose do a back job.
Upon reaching the salon, I presented the receipt. Fortunately, they agreed
to have it re-done.

In contrast with other salons, when a back job is done, their hair staffs
would recover, and I would be pleased in the end. With their second session,
it made my hair worse. I was not a happy camper. Lesson learned. Be cautious
about salons which already have specific downbeat reputation. Just follow
friends’ advice, before regret comes.

I guess this is more like a rant rather than asking for an advice. But I feel that it’s my duty to inform the rest of Cebu what services are worth for the taking and what’s not. To Salon de Rose, touché.

All the best,

Jane

To Jane,

I feel your pain. My hair, too, was once butchered by some stylist. How? Let’s just say my cousin called me “helmet head” for the rest of the evening until I had the chance to have it redone at another salon early the next day. The lesson of our story is fairly simple, don’t trust your tresses to anybody. Before you step into a salon, be sure that the people who’ll be working with your hair have all the right credentials. It would also be more convenient if you can get recommendations from friends or family even before you have booked for a hair appointment. After all, hair is not just hair, it is our crowning glory and through it – we make our statement.

I hope through Jane’s story and my “helmet head” tale, we all have learned our lesson, and possibly save ourselves from another set of anguish and remorse.

Always,

Carrie

After liberally watching Korean-Novelas both at GMA and ABS-CBN, it’s quite apparent why so many Cebuanos are sporting silky straight locks. Rebonded hair is definitely in and it is definitely staying. Although many Cebuanos would like to don frizz-free tresses, prices can be a bit steep. Since the demand in Cebu for hair rebonding is so high, husband and wife, Rey and Lara have lowered down their Hair Rebonding fee that has been blowing people’s minds.

Coco Hair Studio is a Korean Salon and has been operating for over a year now, and the 80% drop in prices is a part of their anniversary promo. As I asked Lara how long will this promotion last, she only had one word for her reply, “Forever”. With wide eyes, I asked why and she smiled as she said, “Well, this has always been our passion; plus we get our chemicals at a much lower price since the manufacturer is my friend”.

Granting that the price is considerably a bargain when compared to other salons, Coco Hair Studio pride themselves for their service quality. They also plan to open a new branch in Fuente Osmenia when the new Robinson annex finally opens.

One of the hair stories I have also heard in the Philippines is, some women who get tired of the long straight length hair frequents the parlor to perm and curl their hair. Another hair stories flaunted women who are so frustrated over their curls have their hair straightened by relaxing. Hair relaxing is a chemical treatment wherein the hair structure is changed so that the curl is removed. However, the treatment then was so harsh that unless your hair is in perfect condition, you are sure to get damaged hair. In the Philippines, recent technological processes have made hair straightening a breeze. It is called Japanese Ionic Rebonding. It is a two-step chemical process wherein the molecules of the hair are broken and re-arranged using the Chemical A then hot-ironed flat and straight. Then chemical B is used to “Rebond” the hair molecules again. It is the current rage among those who used to have troubles with frizzy and curly hair.

Some hair stories feature that our race determines what type of hair we have. It can be classified by color. White, Caucasian hair usually is fine, light colored and straight. White people are easily distinguishable by being blonde-haired people and redheads. African hair is usually black, curly and dense. It is said that due to the difficulty of styling this type of hair that that dreadlocks and braids were invented. In the Philippines, hair is mostly black and different shades of brown and varies from straight and wavy to curly. In hair stories I have read said that hair characteristics come from our parents. Women in the Philippines usually have hair types and hair color is directly inherited as well as our eye color and skin tone.

In the Philippines, sometimes, we have bad hair days because of the weather. Here are some tips from hair stories to vanish a bad hair day.

1. Curl your hair.

2. Tease the roots of your hair.

3. Put some powder

4. Use strengtheners

5. Use hats, headbands and other hair accessories

It really matters to look beautiful, but regardless of mane types, hair plays an important role in your overall presentation and it makes you feel good all the time. Reading some hair stories will make you will feel better if you find good ways to deal with your mane, but still be thankful that you still got your crowning glory.

Hair is found all over the human body. Humanoids of old times had longer, thicker body hair as a way of keeping warmth in times of cold. Human body hair has thinned out since then. Nonetheless, there are some who feel that they have too much hair on their body. This is especially true for those who intend to wear bikinis.

The recent fad of hair removal is seen a result of the modern bikini culture — bikinis are getting ever shorter, and covering less and less. In truth, hair removal (especially around the crotch) has been practiced in Middle Eastern countries for centuries, for reasons of proper hygiene and local customs. There is even evidence of such procedures dating as far back as 4000 to 3000 BC in India. The methods have not really changed in all that time, but the material used has.

Hair waxing is one of the most popular methods of hair removal. Common areas of application are the chest, back, and legs. The leg hair removal procedures are popular amongst bikini wearers, as the hair on the legs could look unsightly when exposed. At Hair Talks, waxing is offered for the removal of such unsightly hair.

Modern concepts of beauty have defined leg hair as unsightly. Specifically, lots of hair on the legs is a definite no-no, especially if you are in swim wear, and even more so if you are a woman. Hair removal for the legs is usually done with strip waxing, a method that uses a wax-based mixture to remove hair from the skin. The wax mixture is spread thinly over the target area, and cloth or paper strips are laid over it. After a few moments, the cloth or paper strips are quickly ripped off against the direction of hair growth. This removes the hair as it is pulled along with the wax. Another method is to spread a thick layer of wax, so removal can be done without paper or cloth strips. Either one may be painful for a short while, but nobody ever said achieving beauty did not take sacrifices. The area will then be hairless for about six to eight weeks, until the hair starts growing back.

Hair Talks has skilled hair removal therapists to minimize the discomfort associated with waxing. Visit Hair Talks and say hello to smooth, hairless legs! With Hair Talks, you can feel confident and beautiful in a bikini!

From Pia Guanio’s bobs to Boy Abunda’s fuzzed scalp, Pinoy celebrity hairstyles are definitely part and parcel of hair gossip that any self-respecting fashionista would talk about.
But what is it that makes Pinoy celebrity hairstyles so essential to career? It’s relatively simple: the effect that they have on people.

Regal hairstyles command respect and dignity, while fab hairstyles impress with their glitz and glamour. It is a choice that many celebrities strain over, as the resulting hair gossip from a poorly judged hairstyle choice would seriously dampen their careers. Sticking with a regal hairstyle runs the risk of looking plain, serious, outdated and worst of all old, while fab hairstyles run the risk of making you look stupid, comical, cheap, and worst of all trying hard.

Any self-respecting fashionista knows this, and that is why they are keenly updated as to what’s hot and what’s not with Pinoy celebrity hairstyles while leaving it up to the professional hairstylists to handle the curling and styling.

But if you must insist on making a choice, at least avoid this mistakes one vital mistake: blindly copy-pasting a celebrity hairstyle’s look to slap on your own. Hair gossip is great when you’re doing the gossiping; it is not so great when you’re the one being gossiped about.

If you have this aura of dignity and doña-hood about you, do not insist on putting highlights or other naughty additions to your hair. You would just end up being the butt of all the hair gossip; trying to be bagets while you’re one of the forgets. On the flip side, do not insist on sticking to flatly ironed hair or tied up buns if you have the bubbly, youthful energy of a teener. You would seriously cramp whatever potential style you have at your fingertips.

Pinoy celebrity hairstyles are managed by professionals to match their physique and image. If you feel you absolutely must copy Angel Locsin or KC Concepcion’s do, then at least listen to the advice of your stylist if you don’t want to end up being the topic of some really stinging hair gossip in your neighborhood or workplace.
