Henna For Your Mane

[23 Aug 2009 | No Comment | 1,231 views]

A lot of people are now giving much value to their hair. Hair care is vital and since it’s the first thing that other people usually sees, it’s just proper to take good care of your hair. Have you heard about henna? It’s great for hair coloring and it also offers wonderful benefits.

For one, henna can make your hair strong, silky, and thick. However, before you use it, there are some things that you need to do to ensure proper hair care. In most cases, you will need to purchase the pure henna or the ones that are mixed with certain plant extracts. The product should be labeled clearly so that you can be sure that you’re getting the right one.

Once you have it, test it on one hair strand. This is important so that you can actually see the finishing color and you will also be able to determine the length of time that you will leave it on to get the desired color. In most cases, you will need to leave it for a couple of hours so you need to do this on a weekend when you have nothing much to do. It will take about half a day to perform all these things – preparation of the solution, strand test, application, and the leave-on time.

Henna is suited for individuals who are dark blonds or brunettes. Again, keep in mind that hair care should be your primary objective. You can’t use products that can make your hair weak and ugly. For those with dark hair, you can use the red highlights to create a smashing effect. You can also expect excellent results if you use the product for treating gray hair. If you want to turn your hair into brunette, get brown henna that is taken from powers of plants like clove, walnut, and little Indigo. If you have allergies, you will also need to be extra careful.

Another hair care tip – don’t use the product if your hair is commercially colored. You need to wait for at least two months before you can start applying it. To get rid of the old hair color, use a good clarifying shampoo. The brand of henna should not contain any metallic salts because these are unhealthy. Pick only the well-used, ethically labeled, safe, and well-known hair hennas to ensure appropriate hair care. Before applying anything to your hair, you should always perform suitable hair care so that you won’t damage your hair.
