Hairstyles of Pinoy Hunks

[14 Apr 2009 | 2 Comments | 12,210 views]

Filipino men are recognized as fanatics of Hollywood stars. They also like to look more masculine by having a neat and simple haircut. Therefore, most of them prefer to have their hair short but they still do not forget to be stylish when it comes to it. This is very evident in the hairstyles of pinoy male celebrities.

Most of the Filipino actors wear Faux hawk style. It is a more decent version of Mohawk hairstyle. If the latter shows a completely shaved sides and back of the head, this style just illustrates a razor sides that it allows them a little edgy without going to extremes. This can be achieved by applying a little amount of gel or styling wax on the longer hair on top of the hair so that it will stick up. Model and actors like Sam Milby and Dingdong Dantes are just some of the celebrities who popularized this style in the Philippines. With Dingdong’s, it is the shorter adaptation of faux hawk which shows his stunning robust guy looks. Its pure black color also adds to firm appearance.

On the other hand, Sam’s version is a trendier one because of its being longer and messy gelled. Its dark brown color makes him appear more of a rock star.

Another masculine hairdo is the army or the buzz cut. Since it is summer and it looks more of a brawny guy, many pinoys wear this hairstyle. It is less of a hassle because only small amount of styling product is required to be used. One of the Filipino celebrities who have this is Luis Manzano. He sets his haircut with a perfect bad boy look. However, his version is the one with medium sideburns.

Another common pinoy hairstyle is the Caesar cut. It associates layers that cut to about 2-3 inches all over the head with the bangs pushed forward and upward. It fits any face shape and hair type. It gives a suave look that is why most guys have this haicut. John Lloyd Cruz is one of the popular men who consistently apply subscribe to this style. His version is a longer one which is also known as the French crop.

These are just some of the simplest and most popular pinoy hairstyles that make girls go gaga over them. This just shows that Filipinos play in the middle when it comes to styles. Too much decoration and too much dullness are cheesy for their eyes.
